LeadHunter Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy, securing your scraped leads, and adhering strictly to developer standards and data protection laws.

📅 Effective Date: August 9, 2026
🛡️ Chrome Web Store Compliant
01

Overview & Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how LeadHunter ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects data when you use the LeadHunter Chrome Extension, web dashboard, API services, and associated applications.

By using our service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. LeadHunter provides lead generation tools (email scraping from publicly available web pages) and email campaign orchestration for growth teams and sales professionals.

02

Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to deliver and improve our services:

  • Account Information: Your email address, encrypted password hash, and registration timestamps when you sign up.
  • User-Generated Campaign Data: Email templates, custom variables, collection folders, and SMTP configuration settings provided by you for sending outreach campaigns.
  • Scraped Lead Data: Public email addresses, full names, social profile URLs, and metadata extracted via the extension during your active scraping sessions.
  • Technical & Log Data: IP address, browser type, API request logs, and error diagnostic logs to maintain system security and uptime.
03

Chrome Extension Data Disclosures

🛡️ Chrome Web Store User Data Policy Compliance
The LeadHunter Chrome Extension operates in strict compliance with the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Agreement and User Data Guidelines. We do not sell, rent, or trade user data or scraped contacts to third parties.

The extension requests specific permissions for clear functional reasons:

🔑 activeTab & Host Permissions
Allows the content script to execute on search engine & social pages (Google, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram) to detect publicly displayed email addresses.
💾 chrome.storage
Used solely to store your authentication session tokens and local user preferences locally within your browser.
Background Service Worker
Handles automated pagination and securely transmits scraped leads to your authenticated backend account dashboard.
🔒 Data Isolation
Your scraped leads and campaigns are strictly isolated to your individual account and never shared with other users.
04

How We Use Information

We use the collected information for the following operational purposes:

  • To authenticate users and sync leads between the Chrome Extension and the Web Dashboard.
  • To execute user-scheduled email campaigns via user-provided SMTP parameters.
  • To perform real-time MX/SMTP syntax and deliverability checks on lead emails.
  • To monitor system performance, prevent abuse, and provide customer support.
05

Data Sharing & Security

Data Security: We employ industry-standard encryption (TLS/HTTPS in transit and AES-256 for sensitive secrets like SMTP passwords at rest). Database instances are hosted in secure cloud data centers with strict access controls.

No Third-Party Monetization: We do not sell, license, or monetize your scraped data or contact lists. We only disclose data if required by applicable legal processes or law enforcement requests.

06

Your Data Rights & Choices

As a LeadHunter user, you retain full ownership and control over your account data:

  • Data Export: You can export your leads, campaign analytics, and collections in CSV format at any time from the Dashboard.
  • Data Erasure: You can delete specific leads, collections, or request full account deletion by contacting support.
  • Extension Removal: Uninstalling the extension immediately stops all background data collection and removes locally stored session keys.
07

Cookies & Local Storage

We use essential HTTP cookies and browser LocalStorage to maintain logged-in state across dashboard sessions and remember user preferences (such as dark mode settings and table filtering parameters). We do not use intrusive cross-site advertising tracking cookies.

08

Contact & Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect technological improvements or regulatory updates. We will notify active users of material changes via email or dashboard announcements.
